Nursing
On 9-14th February, the students of the Nursing Department at LUCI participated in an international training on Management of Critical0 Ill Children and Infant and Child CPR Training, held by a number of nursing specialists from the USA and members of the organization entitled “love them all” . The collaboration organized an impactful training, and the following remarks were noted:
- Management of critically ill children
We provided general and important information about critical illness in children. We hope this event becomes a life-changing event for the student. They learnt how to design and evaluate models of care that aim to implement family-centered care to support more positive outcomes for critically ill children and their families.
- Infant and child CPR training
During the event, we taught students the two simple steps of Hands-Only CPR and other lifesaving skills.
- Basic of infection transmission and prevention
Our team of healthcare professionals taught the students how to recognize and prevent the transmission of germs and healthcare-associated feeding.
- Feeding tube insertion for infants (Nasogastric tube)
Our event gave best practice for the insertion and confirmation of placement of nasogastric tubes in children and infants in the acute care setting.
four (4) Associate Professors, six (6) Assistant Professors, twelve (12) Lecturers, and three (3) Research Assistants. Our academic staff strives for student-centered education, and also participates in national and international congresses, symposiums, seminars and panels, takes part in TUBITAK and EU-supported projects, publishes national and international publications and carries out scientific activities. The curriculum of the Midwifery and Nursing Departments is in accordance with the directives stated under the title of “Free Movement of Professions” (OG: 24 MARCH 2006, Number: 24352 Duplicate) of the European Union, and their diplomas are suitable for practicing their profession in European Union countries that allow free movement. Our Faculty graduates, who receive job offers from national and international platforms and are primarily preferred by health institutions, are always a source of pride for us.
he Faculty of Nursing was established in 2017 with two departments (Midwifery and Nursing). In addition to undergraduate education in both departments, the Department of Nursing continues education in thesis-based master’s and doctoral programs. Acting with the mission of better health for everyone, Ankara University Faculty of Nursing is an educational institution that respects human and patient rights in line with humanistic philosophy, adheres to ethical values, adopts the principle of education with a scientific and investigative approach and teamwork. Critical thinking, critical decision-making, lifelong learning and gaining behaviors in this direction regarding ways to access information are a part of nursing and midwifery education. Education and training in our faculty is currently carried out with four (4) Professors, four (4) Associate Professors, six (6) Assistant Professors, twelve (12) Lecturers, and three (3) Research Assistants.
