On the 24th of October 2023, a group of students from our department had the opportunity to visit under the supervision of Mr Mohammed Jamal. The primary purpose of their visit was to participate in a workshop and tour the facilities
During this visit, the SPE student chapter took the initiative to organize a workshop themed “Advancements in Oil Recovery: Exploring Cutting-Edge Techniques and Technologies.” The workshop covered subjects such as the application of nanotechnology in Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), and various artificial lift mechanisms. They also received comprehensive introductions to laboratory operations, focusing on the properties of petroleum, reservoirs, and drilling processes.

A group of senior and junior students of the College of Engineering, including petroleum and civil departments made a one-day tour to Bazian Power Plant (Qaiwan Group) in Bazian on Thursday, May 11th.
In the beginning, the required safety instructions were given to the students and later on different departments of the power plant were introduced.
During this excursion, several units such as gas turbines (GTs), heat exchangers, fuel preparation, turbine combustion chambers, control room, GE generators, switchers, and water treatment and purification were visited, and the technical teams of the power plant extensively explained each unit.
